So recently I chanced upon this job posting that has gone viral on social media.
Well, gone viral for the wrong reasons.

Not that I was looking for a job, but people has been re-posting it everywhere.

You are ambitious, intense and entrepreneurial, and you dream of doing truly epic shit with your life. You recoil at the thought of having 1.15 kids, balloting for a flat, saving up for a Toyota and waiting to withdraw your CPF savings at 65 (or 70, or 80, or 120).

No it doesn’t stop there,

I don’t think there’s a need to explain why this is offensive.

Its job requirements are actually quite reasonable for lead software engineers, although one would have expected a much higher salary given the requirements. No I’m not even nitpicking. A job of that description & requirements should command a higher salary than that; easily in the 8-9k range for senior & experienced engineers.

I don’t know if it’s their poor attempt in humor or intentionally trying to garner attention.
Whatever the case, it has backfired.

…Or maybe not. Because I wouldn’t have known about their mobile app if not for this.
