Waiting for a text from someone is annoying. I don’t mean those short text where you just want to convey information or quick short questions across. I’m referring to those long conversations. Well I must admit, all of us at some point in our lives has gotten the other party waiting for your text..for a longgg time.
But it just seems to be an ongoing habit of many individuals. It boggles me to think that they’re okay with it. When a conversation gets started, you begin texting the other party for some time. But somewhereeee along the way, the other party decides to ditch you, leaving you hanging. How do people do that?!
There’s a solution to this problem really. Have the courtesy to inform the other party.
You can use one of the following.
Be right back!
Be back later!
Gotta go!
Talk to you later!
And so when that doesn’t happen, I begin doing other things, while coming back to check my phone every few minutes. 5 minutes feels like 5 days. When other the party finally replies, I become too annoyed to text back.
Sometimes this happens..
NAME is typing…
For what seems like an eternity, as you wonder why the other party is taking incredibly long to type. He/She must be typing a whole chunk of text.
And then this appears.
Okay.
Or this..
NAME is typing…
then nothing appears, because the person decides to delete whatever he/she typed anyway.
I’ve learnt my lesson. Should there ever be a conversation (not hi-bye or just conveying quick info), I should always call instead of text.
